Saying Goodbye to Missy

On Saturday we will be saying goodbye to our beautiful dog that has shared our lives for nearly a decade. We got Missy from the Humane Society and she has been a loving friend from the very beginning. My son Tim found the story in the previous article and the situation is similar. We are all very sad, but we are so glad that Missy has been part of our lives. This isn't the first parting that we have experienced in our menagerie of animals, but this one will be felt deeply by all of us. Here is Missy just a few short months ago:

What is RonHammer.net all about?
This is the personal website of Ron Hammer, former pastor, part time media critic and actor. I use it to share my thoughts on things that catch my attention. There is no grand theme. It's just what happens to be going on in my brain when I sit down to work on it.
What are you doing these days?
Professionally I have been "retired" from pastoral ministry since April, 2007. I am now working for Persyst Development managing their website and doing technical support and product training. I am also currently serving as the President of two organizations: The Arizona Classical Theater (aka Arizona Shakespeare Festival) and the Prescott Film Festival. 
How many pets do you guys have?
Our current count is five including 4 dogs and 1 desert tortoise. We recently said goodbye to our 16 year old cat (Sassy) and gave away Draco (ball python).  Since Debbie and I have been married we have had 8 dogs, 3 cats, 1 gecko, 1 desert tortoise, 1 snake, numerous fish and 2 birds through our home.
